Our USVI Getaway

We knew we wanted one more trip “just the two of us” before baby girl comes home. So, about a year ago we started planning a getaway. We knew we wanted to go to a beach, and we were using our Marriott points to stay at a Ritz, so we chose the Ritz in St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. Neither of us had ever been to the Virgin Islands, so we weren’t really sure what to expect.

We had the best time. It is such a beautiful place! We explored some in St. Thomas, but also spent two days in St. John, which was by far our favorite. The beaches are breathtaking! We did a whole lot of nothing, which was exactly what we wanted. I am so thankful for our time away. I now know why many people set off for the beach in January- it was so good for the soul to miss a week of the cold Dallas weather and get some sun!

    Hi Sherry!!
    Which island did you like best? We went to St Croix about 3 years ago and loved it! I would love to go to St John because it looks less touristy and crowded than most islands. Where did you stay there?

      Hi Alicia! We loved St. John the best… but we only went there and St. Thomas. We stayed the whole time on St. Thomas at the Ritz Carlton. I agree- St. John was way less touristy! We ate dinner one night at Caneel Bay- that is where we would most likely stay on St. John. It was beautiful and the restaurant there (Zozo’s) was amazing. I have heard the Westin St. John is beautiful but we didn’t see it. The beaches on St. John were not crowded (unless the cruise ship people showed up!) and they were so beautiful!!

        We took the ferry over to St. John and stayed all day two days, but came back to our resort on St. Thomas at night…
