Cotton Bowl 2013

I’m catching up from posts I’ve been meaning to do for a while now! First up, the greatness of Aggie Football.

When we found out the Ags were in the Cotton Bowl, we immediately started texting friends and getting on StubHub to buy tickets. BUT, after realizing even the cheap seats were over $300 per ticket, we knew we really couldn’t/shouldn’t spend that much money for tickets to the Cotton Bowl.

On Thursday morning before the game, I had the thought of “I can’t believe we’re not going! It’s Johnny Football! How can we not go??” and thought about texting T and just telling him we needed to go. But then Trey called and left a message saying he had big news. One of the partners from DC was in town and he walked in and told T that he wanted to buy tickets for us- he just thought we had to go. What a nice guy!!! We were so excited and made plans to go!

We had just sat down in our seats when I saw on Instagram that Trey’s college roommate and his wife were right above us in a suite! They came down with two extra suite tickets- and up we went. It was so much fun getting to watch the game from a suite AND with such good friends. Thanks Misty & Kevin for the fun time!

Y’all. Johnny Football. When I took this picture, it was the only time I was a little stressed during the game. But my caption read “Keep Calm and Johnny Football”. A few plays later he scored another TD, and the Aggies never looked back. What a game!

The next morning a friend (Cortney, I think it was you?) posted this picture on FB and it just made my day.

Whoop. An 11-2 season with a new coach, a new quarterback, and a new conference? Yes, I do believe this might be the best season we’ve ever had. Now, the countdown to September starts and I can’t wait!
