When I was getting my hair cut a couple of years ago at the new salon I switched to when we moved to Dallas, one of the colorists came over for a consult. She said that with blue eyes like mine, I should have dark hair. {And yes, I did go dark for a while but y’all. I was just meant to be a blonde.} Anyway, at the time my hair was highlighted blonde {as it has been most of my life} and she said having blonde hair with my eyes was like not wearing eye liner every day. Gasp!
Well, folks, I didn’t have eye liner on that day! And honestly, I only really wore it at the time for days I really had time to do my make up or special occasions {date nights, weddings, etc.}. Eyeliner was definitely not something I even really knew how to wear much less try to put it on every day.
Well, after that day I started wearing eye liner pretty much every single day. Not just because that colorist said it, but because once I started wearing it, I realized how much more my eyes stand out! It took a while for me to find my favorite eye liner, but a few months ago I tried this and I’ve never looked back.
It’s MAC’s Fluidline Gel Eyeliner. I call it “the pot” because, well, it comes in a pot. I have it in Blacktrack along with a brush similar to this one. The MAC sales lady convinced me I would love it more than the eye pencil I had been using and she was right. She showed me an easy technique to apply it and after a few practice rounds I was sold!
It is very forgiving when you put it on, so I always have a Q-tip handy. But once it is set, it lasts all day. What a difference this little pot has made in my make up routine!

I’m always afraid of eyeliner…but have blue eyes myself so this sounds tempting :) Thanks for the tip!
How do you feel about Bobbi Brown eyeliner? I haven’t tried the Mac (although I can’t think of a reason why I haven’t…) but I have other used others and I love cream liner.
I haven’t tried Bobbi Brown but I have heard her cream liner is awesome. Maybe I’ll try that next!
